We get it that disconnecting social media profiles can be a major pain, and we're here for you! Sometimes it's just how social media platforms handle security.
Usually, hitting the reconnect button in "Workspace Settings" will do the trick. But, there might be some edge cases where you'll need a more robust solution.
Fear not, we'll guide you through the process and have you back on track in no time! β±οΈ
Method 1: "Reconnect" Button π
πDisconnects can happen for various reasons, such as a change of password, security measures, or technical difficulties on the social media platform.
Instagram and Facebook tend to be the platforms with the most frequent disconnects.
π§ Every time there's a disconnect, you'll get an email from NapoleonCat. When you receive such a message or notice in NapoleonCat, here's what to do:
Cruise on over to Workspace Settings
Click the "Reconnect" button next to the disconnected profile, and follow the on-screen prompts
Method 2: "Edit" Button βοΈ
When a profile isn't disconnected but you want to update permissions or connect more pages, this alternative method works wonders.
It's slightly longer, but perfect for connecting profiles that weren't previously connected. It's especially useful for Facebook and Instagram, but it works with all platforms. π
Go to Workspace Settings
Hover over the profile and select "Edit":
Click on "Reconnect":
Next, simply follow the on-screen prompts. You can click on "Edit Settings" and check all the boxes to grant all the permissions NapoleonCat requires.
This way, you can also include pages that weren't connected before.
Method 3: Reset π
Sometimes, it's best to reset the connection and start fresh.
To do this, you'll need to remove NapoleonCat from Facebook Business Integrations, clear all app data for app.napoleoncat.com and facebook.com, and then reconnect your social media pages from scratch.
While this method may be the longest of the bunch, investing a bit more time now can save you from potential headaches later. π
π΄ Just a heads-up: make sure you have 2-factor authentication enabled on your FB account. If not, now's a good time to turn it on.
β οΈ Keep in mind that this method may also remove profiles that are working just fine. You can easily reconnect them once everything's sorted out.

A handy tip
Here's a cool tip to reduce the chances of your FB profiles getting disconnected: get a teammate(s) to connect the profiles as well.
By having two different people connect a single profile, we'll have two separate authorization tokens, which actually lowers the risk of disconnects
β
β Just have them connect your FB profile as usual, even if it's already connected.
β
Once everything's all set, you'll see how it looks in your Workspace Settings, with two different people connecting the same profile:
