"NapoleonCat has lost access to your page" - this is a message you may receive one day. Don't worry, this can easily be dealt with.
Solution 1 - simple reconnect
Disconnects may occur when you or someone else with access, changes your Facebook/Instagram password. The other reason why your profiles might get disconnected is when Facebook decides that it's time for you as a page administrator to review the list of apps accessing your pages. This process is standard procedure ensuring the security of your data.
When you receive such a message via email or notice in NapoleonCat, you should:
go to Workspace Settings, and
click the *Reconnect* button next to the profile that has been disconnected.
IMPORTANT: You can only connect pages to NapoleonCat if you have admin access to those pages.
Solution 2 - setting up the connection between your social media pages and NapoleonCat from scratch
In some cases, the connection between your social media profiles and NapoleonCat is beyond fixing with the simple method described above.
And it may be necessary to reset the connection and start from scratch.
To do this, you will need to remove NapoleonCat from Business Integrations on Facebook, clear all app data for app.napoleoncat.com
and facebook.com
, and then go through the process of connecting your social media pages afresh.
✅ We've known this method to be a permanent solution for some of our customers. Here's how to do it:
Head over to Facebook Business integrations while viewing Facebook on your admin account (not as your company page)
From there, remove the Napoleon Cat app:
Go to your Workspace settings in NapoleonCat. Then, you'll need to remove all your affected Facebook and Instagram profiles by hovering over them and hitting *Remove*:
You'll now need to clear all cookies and cache data for
app.napoleoncat.com
.
Paste this link into the address bar if you're using Chrome:chrome://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https://www.app.napoleoncat.com
And then clear all the data for NapoleonCat.com, like so:Once done, please do the same thing (clearing data) for Facebook.com:
chrome://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https://www.facebook.com
This ensures that while setting up the connection from scratch, no left-over and historic metadata will be stored in your cookies/cache (which hampers the connection process).
6. By now, you will have been logged out from both Facebook and NapoleonCat. You'll then need to visit Workspace Settings.
You now need to go through the flow of connecting your Facebook and Instagram profiles anew:
✅ Please make sure to grant all the requested permissions to NapoleonCat, as well as toggle on any of your Facebook/Intagram pages that you're looking to connect.
And there you have it — you're all done! 💁🏽♂️
