Adding social profiles to NapoleonCat will be the first thing you do in order to get started. By"profiles", we mean Facebook pages, Google+ pages, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest profiles as well as YouTube channels. You can now monitor and analyse them using our application. You can monitor profiles you own or administer as well as any other publicly available ones. Such as your competitors, market benchmarks or influencers you want to keep your eye on.
To add a new profile to your account in NapoleonCat, follow these simple steps:
- Go to "Project settings" in the left-hand side menu. You will be automatically taken to the "Profiles" tab with the option to add managed and followed profiles.
Adding a profile you administer
2a. If you want to add your own profile, just click the yellow button "Add managed" on the right.
2b. You will see a list of social platforms to choose from. Click on the name of the platform corresponding to the profile you want to add. When you choose the platform, you will see a pop-up window asking you to give NapoleonCat access to your account on the social platform you chose. This is necessary if you want to be able to analyse data, publish content and moderate profiles using NapoleonCat.
IMPORTANT: Please give access to all the pages you want to add to NapoleonCat. If you will not give access to some pages, you will not be able to add them as profiles managed.
IMPORTANT: if you use any ad blockers or pop-up blockers, it's best to switch them off temporarily, as they may interfere with connecting NapoleonCat to your account.
2c. Next, you will see the list of profiles available. The screenshot below shows the example for Facebook with one user having administrative access to multiple pages. Choose the profiles you want to add to NapoleonCat by clicking "+" button next to it. If you don't see the button, it means that the profile has already been added to the application before.
2d. Once you added the profile, you will see it on the list. It will have two options: "Reconnect" (the icon marked with "1" below)) and "Remove from project" (marked with "2" below).
They can be used to remove the profile from the application or reconnect it in a rare case when application gets disconnected from it. For example, if you change your password on Facebook, you will need to reconnect all your managed pages in NapoleonCat as it will no longer be able to access them using your previous password.
Adding your competitor's/benchmark profile
3a. If you want to add a profile that you don't manage, click the "Add followed" button.
3b. You will see a list of social platforms, a search bar and a magnifying glass icon. Choose the platform (1), paste the link to the social profile you want to add or type in the name of the profile (2), click the magnifying glass icon (3) and add the profile to NapoleonCat (4).
Congratulations. You're all set!
You have successfully added your first profiles to NapoleonCat. Now it's time to add your coworkers.
